The food bank is an affiliate of America's Second Harvest, the national network of certified food banks. Second Harvest Food Bank of Southeast North Carolina is one of six regional food banks serving all 100 counties in North Carolina.

America's Second Harvest is the largest charitable hunger relief organization in the United States, soliciting and distributing more than one billion pounds of food and grocery products annually.

FOOD BANK FACTS

The FOOD BANK rescues over 5,000,000 pounds of nutritious edible food annually that would otherwise be disposed of. Donations are received from national corporations through the Second Harvest Food network, local retail grocers, food industry partners and farmers.

The FOOD BANK collaborates with 200 charitable organizations in a 7 county area. These organizations range from small to large - church pantries, day cares, soup kitchens, and senior citizens programs.
